ICO Privacy Notice Generator

The ICO has replaced their template privacy notice with a new privacy notice generator allowing organisations to create a bespoke privacy notice in just 10-15 minutes. This new tool can also be used to check your existing privacy notice is data protection compliant.

There are two privacy notice generators available,

For customers & supplier information
For staff and volunteer information

The privacy notice generator for customer and supplier information is for general businesses, however the ICO are currently developing new sector specific versions which they intend to launch in Summer 2024. These will be for the following sectors:

• Professional Services (including finance, insurance and legal services)
• Education and childcare
• Health and Social Care
• Charity and Voluntary Sector

The new tool will allow organisations to create a bespoke privacy notice based on the information provided at that time. However, it is the organisation's responsibility to comply with the law by ensuring all information is accurate and the content is kept up to date.
