World Mental Health Day
8 October 2025

Each year on October 10th, World Mental Health Day takes place which is a chance for everyone to talk openly about mental health. The goal is to break down stigma, promote understanding, and advocate for policies that protect everyone's mental wellbeing.
This year's theme focuses on ‘Access to services - Mental health in catastrophes and emergencies’. In particular the focus is on the mental health impact of repeated exposure to news coverage of crises and conflicts.
As employers we play a critical role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our employees. So why not participate in World Mental Health Day by arranging a tea & talk event, circulating relevant information or encouraging employees to get involved in physical activity.
Further information and resources can be accessed here - World Mental Health Day HSE's Working Minds campaign also provides a good range of resources to support employers and employees to understand the best ways to prevent work related stress and encourage good mental health.
