International Stress Awareness Week 2026
2 November 2026
International Stress Awareness Week takes place from 2 – 6 November 2026, with Stress Awareness Day on Wednesday 4 November. This year’s theme is Shaping the Future of Stress and Wellbeing: Rehumanising the Workplace, highlighting the importance of putting people first and ensuring employees feel able to speak openly about stress and their wellbeing.
Employers can help by encouraging open conversations about mental health, ensuring workloads are manageable, providing access to appropriate support and equipping managers to recognise the signs of stress. Creating a culture where employees feel listened to and comfortable raising concerns can make a real difference.
We are encouraging members to reflect on how stress affects employees and the steps their organisations can take to support their wellbeing. This week, take time to check in with staff and ask how they are managing their workload, encourage employees to take regular breaks, or use a team meeting to open up a conversation about workplace stress. Even a simple reminder of the support available and reassurance that concerns can be raised without judgement can help employees feel supported.
Our stress management resources are available on our website here, offering practical guidance on recognising, managing and reducing workplace stress and supporting employee wellbeing. We also offer stress management training for HR professionals and line managers. If you are interested in finding out more or arranging a session, please contact us at hr@evh.org.uk.
Stress Awareness Week is a reminder that wellbeing should be an ongoing priority. By taking a people-centred approach, employers can help reduce workplace stress, support their employees and build more resilient teams.
