Menopause Day
17 October 2025

There are a wide range of symptoms associated with perimenopause and menopause which can have a significant impact on those who are experiencing them. Therefore, it’s important to have awareness of what can happen during these natural stages of life to be able to support employees to stay well and thrive during this time.
Employers can support employees by:
- Creating an open and supportive culture where employees feel comfortable talking about how menopause-related symptoms are affecting them at work and are able to discuss the support they need.
- Carrying out a risk assessment to ensure that symptoms are not being made worse by the workplace or ways or working.
- Allowing employees to take breaks when needed.
- Providing a private area where employees can rest to help manage their symptoms.
- Changing the employee’s working environment for example having a desk next to a window that opens or providing them with a fan.
The theme for this year’s World Menopause Day is “Lifestyle Medicine” which highlights how everyday choices can have a positive impact on managing symptoms. The International Menopause Society has created resources to support health and wellbeing during and after menopause and further information can be found online here.
