Stress Awareness Month 2026: Be the Change
14 April 2026
This April, it’s Stress Awareness Month, a time to recognise the impact of stress and take action. This year’s theme, Be The Change, highlights how small actions can have a big impact in creating a healthier and more supportive workplace.
Stress is a natural response to pressure, but when it becomes prolonged, it can affect mental and physical health.
Employers can lead the way in supporting workplace wellbeing by ensuring workloads and expectations are realistic, providing clear access to resources and support, training managers to recognise and respond to stress, and encouraging open conversations about mental health.
Employees can also take a proactive role in managing their own stress and supporting colleagues. Taking regular breaks, maintaining a healthy work-life balance, staying active and eating well, reaching out for support when needed and encouraging others to do the same are all important steps.
This Stress Awareness Month, we encourage our members to consider practical actions such as sharing tips and resources within your teams, starting conversations about mental health at work, and celebrating small acts of support and kindness.
Be The Change in fostering a supporting and inclusive working environment.
