International Women's Day 2026

Celebrating International Women’s Day 2026
On 8 March, we celebrate International Women’s Day. This is a global day recognising the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, while also raising awareness of the work still needed to advance equality.
The 2026 theme is “Give to Gain”, aimed at encouraging generosity and collaboration. It highlights the power of giving, whether through donations, knowledge, resources, education, training or time, and how by doing this, we all gain stronger workplaces, more inclusive cultures, and better outcomes for our communities.
For organisations, “Give to Gain” is a reminder that small but meaningful actions can have a lasting impact. Creating an environment where women feel confident to speak up, investing in development opportunities, and promoting flexible and family friendly policies are all ways employers can give. In turn, they gain greater engagement, productivity and resilience.
International Women’s Day is also a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women across your organisation and the wider sector, and to reflect on how we continue to build fair and supportive working environments.
We encourage members to use this year’s theme to prompt conversation, reflection and action, considering what you can give within your organisation, and how that contribution helps everyone thrive.
