Maintenance Officer

Reidvale Housing Association is looking for an experienced and motivated Maintenance Officer to join our Asset Management team.

Our homes are among Reidvale’s most important assets, but for our tenants they are much more than that, they are where people live their lives. We are looking for someone who understands that delivering a great maintenance service means getting both the technical detail and the customer experience right.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you will work across reactive repairs, void properties, planned and cyclical maintenance, contractor performance, property inspections, medical adaptations and property safety. You will carry out inspections, monitor the quality of works, work with contractors to resolve performance issues and help ensure our homes are safe, well maintained and managed effectively.

You will also work directly with tenants and owners, dealing with maintenance concerns and complaints, keeping customers informed and helping us identify practical ways to improve our services. You will work closely with our Head of Asset Management and Senior Maintenance Officer, supervise our Maintenance Assistant and play an important role in the day-to-day delivery of our repairs and maintenance service.

The person we are looking for

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with sound judgement, good organisation and a genuine commitment to customer service.

You should have a professional, technical or construction-related qualification, together with a track record of property management within a housing organisation. You will be comfortable working with contractors, managing competing priorities, taking ownership of problems and challenging workmanship or performance where standards are not being met.

Just as importantly, we are looking for someone who is approachable, solutions focused and interested in making services better. You should be able to communicate confidently with tenants, colleagues, contractors and professional partners, while seeing work through from the initial problem to the final outcome.

What we offer

As well as a salary of £42,707 to £46,895, the role offers:
