Maintenance Officer
We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Officer to join our small, tenant‑led organisation. As a fully mutual housing co‑operative managed by a voluntary committee of tenants, we provide good‑quality, affordable homes and promote a safe, welcoming community. Our staff play a vital role in delivering a personal, responsive service to tenants and partners.

As our Maintenance Officer, you will:
- Help manage day‑to‑day repairs and maintenance, including carrying out property inspections and identifying required works.
- Work closely with contractors to monitor quality, costs and timescales, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
- Support planned and routine maintenance programmes across our homes.
- Support to ensure compliance with health, safety and legal requirements.
- Communicate openly and respectfully with tenants about repairs and appointments, working collaboratively within a small team.
- Maintain clear, accurate records and provide general office and administrative support.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Brings practical experience in property maintenance, repairs or inspections, or has strong relevant hands‑on skills.
- Has a good understanding of housing repairs and health and safety requirements, ideally within a social housing environment.
- Is well organised, able to manage competing priorities and take ownership of their workload.
- Communicates clearly, professionally and respectfully with tenants, contractors and colleagues.
- Is confident using IT systems to maintain accurate records and reports.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to fairness, equality, confidentiality and health & safety.
