Hours: Full Time (35 hours per week), Monday - Friday.
Role Overview
Queens Cross Housing Association is an award-winning social landlord based in the northwest of Glasgow. Do you have a qualified technical background, or previous relevant experience, that can be applied to domestic property? Do you have a comprehensive knowledge of the mandatory and statutory requirements for social housing property safety? Do you have a background of managing contractors?
As the Tenant Health & Safety Officer for Queens Cross Housing Association, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that we comply with our legal obligations in relation to tenant safety and cyclical maintenance. Whilst social housing experience is advantageous, it is not essential – we are looking for candidates with a good understanding of the technical aspects of gas safety, water safety (such as managing legionella risk), lift safety, electrical safety, fire safety and asbestos.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that we understand and deliver our legal obligations for tenant property safety.
- Manage contractors.
- Assist in the organisation and management of cyclical maintenance.
- Build relationships and influence decision-making to enhance service delivery.
- Be comfortable implementing digital solutions and using software systems.
- Have excellent communication skills to engage with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Have a keen eye for detail and the confidence to speak up when something doesn’t appear right.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience delivering a technical services function in a customer service focused environment.
- Technical knowledge of Health & Safety / Compliance policies and procedures for domestic property.
- Understanding of practical management of Health and Safety in domestic property e.g. gas, electricity, asbestos, legionella, passenger lifts, fire safety, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively deal with challenging situations in a calm and professional manner.
