Our team of Technical Inspectors play a key role within the Property & Development Directorate, focusing primarily on the repairs and maintenance of our housing stock. The role involves conducting property inspections, diagnosing defects, and ensuring high-quality repair services are delivered efficiently and in line with customer expectations. The role works closely with contractors, consultants, and customers to manage responsive and void repairs, monitor contractor performance, and uphold health and safety standards. A strong emphasis is placed on customer service, compliance and collaboration with internal teams.

A full driving license and access to a car are essential, as this role is primarily based out in our communities and working with our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and Monitor Repairs Services: Conduct property inspections, identify defects, and ensure timely, high-quality repairs and maintenance, including void properties, in line with organisational standards and customer satisfaction goals. Be proactive in resolving minor repairs at the time of inspection.
  • Contractor and Quality Oversight: Supervise and assess the performance of contractors and consultants, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining quality control through site visits and reporting.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear advice and updates to customers and colleagues, respond to enquiries and complaints, and attend meetings to support customer engagement.
  • Support Compliance and Health & Safety: Assist in implementing health and safety policies, report on-site issues, and support the Compliance Team in meeting legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to Broader Property Services: Support medical adaptations, planned maintenance, and new build defect inspections, working collaboratively across teams to meet the Association’s housing and development goals.

We’re looking for a proactive and technically skilled individual with experience in delivering high-quality housing services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property inspections and maintenance, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.  You’ll be a confident communicator, capable of explaining technical issues clearly to a wide range of audiences, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.  A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and building standards, is essential.
