Mental Health First Aider Forum - April 2026

23 Apr 2026 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Following on from the success of our first Mental Health First Aider Forum, we are delighted to announce that the next one will take place on Thursday 23 April.  This forum is open to everyone, including those who were to unable attend the previous one in January.

A mental health First Aider's role is to act as the lead point of contact to support an individual when they experience a mental health crisis, to engage in active listening and offer advice and signposting to other professional resources.  A practitioner's role is also to act as lead within the organisation to support awareness around mental health generally, and actively engage in raising the level of conversation and support for positive mental health approaches within the organisation.

Led by Seamus Corry, Wellbeing & Mental Health Consultant, this forum will delve deeper into the role profile of a Mental Health First Aider and look at the responsibility and current challenges they face.  Including, but not limited to, balancing their everyday job alongside the role; staying up-to-date with training, resources, and services; and providing ongoing support to colleagues.  The forum brings practitioners together to allow the space to talk about their role and how it is for them, it offers collegial support, a deeper understanding of the role and how it can be deployed in your organisation.

The forum will take place on Thursday 23 April online via Zoom from 10.00am – 12.00 noon. There will be a nominal charge of £25+VAT per delegate.  Please note this is a members’ only Forum.

If you wish to book, simply complete and return the booking form which can be found in the downloads section.  Contact Events@evh.org.uk or call the EVH office on 0141 325 7435 if you have any questions.
