Following on from the success of last year’s event at Dunblane, we are delighted to now invite you to our 2024 conference. We have a variety of first-class speakers who will be giving some suggestions and ideas on how to improve and promote inclusiveness within your community and organisation. Noted below are two speakers we have just added to our line-up:
David Bookbinder, Director from Glasgow West of Scotland Forum of Housing Associations
“Inclusion of local and non-local people on committees – are we getting the balance right?”
David will talk about how long-standing tenants who have retired from governing bodies are not easy to replace with other tenants. What does this mean for the way housing associations are succession planning, and is it a particular threat for community-based associations? And is the Reidvale episode a success story for CBHAs or is it too early to call?”
Fraser Stewart, Director from New Gorbals Housing Association
“The Gorbals - Regeneration in Partnership”
Fraser will show how the Gorbals has been completely transformed through a series of partnerships that New Gorbals Housing Association has been at the heart of and often led. It will showcase the multi award winning physical regeneration and will also cover the partnership working with statutory agencies and the voluntary sector that has been developed by the Association in its work as the designated community anchor organisation. He will also show that representing the interests of the community, and particularly the interests of those most often excluded, drives the Association’s partnership working.
