We are a small, community based fully mutual housing co-operative based in North Edinburgh. We have a stock of 372 houses and flats.  We are governed by a highly committed tenant led Committee of Management. One of our chief corporate objectives is that our tenants are paramount in everything we do.

We have an exciting opportunity for a newly created role as a Governance & Compliance Manager.   Working with a registered social landlord who has high aspirations for achieving excellence in all its legal and regulatory requirements, there will be a key focus on ensuring we are fully compliant with bodies such as the Scottish Housing Regulator, the Information Commissioner, the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman and the Health & Safety Executive.

As a member of the Senior Management Team reporting directly to the CEO, the successful applicant will also have responsibility for developing, implementing and managing a Self-Assessment Framework taking into account regulatory and legal requirements, best practice and our Internal Auditor’s recommendations, progressing the development of our Equalities Framework and carry out the regular monitoring, evaluating and reporting on all our Key Performance Indicators.

This Senior Manager will be expected to have regular contact with our Committee of Management co-ordinating their training, arranging the annual Strategy Away day, our AGM and ensuring Members have access to the necessary reports and publications.

Given the wide scope of the role it is expected the successful applicant will take responsibility for their own learning and
have excellent research and analytical skills.  Experience providing direction and oversight and be able to help guide staff in the assessment of control deficiencies while assisting in developing effective and timely remediation plans is critical to this role.
