With over 2000 tenants, residential and commercial owners receiving services and with more than 40 years local experience, Glasgow West Housing Association Ltd (GWHA) is a respected community controlled, charitable housing services provider.

GWHA operates within a mature set of multi-tenure, inner city neighbourhoods, in the Anderston, Burnbank Gardens, Hillhead, Kelvingrove, Hyndland and Partick communities, in the West of Glasgow. Our area consists mainly of tenure invisible, high density pre-1919 tenemental and high rise/deck access stock, with few gap sites and infrequent, challenging, development opportunities.

We are proud of our resilience and roots; originating from Hillhead HA in 1978 and maturing through the successful fusion of 7 housing stock transfers; 5 from local housing association and 2 from Glasgow Housing Association.   We employ 60 staff, own 1486 houses, and through our subsidiary, Glasgow West Enterprises Ltd, we provide property factoring services to 580 residential and commercial owners.

With the impending retirement of our long serving Corporate Director, this vacancy provides a rare opportunity to join our Executive Team,   to lead, develop and drive sustainable, robust, divisional strategies, policies and performance; and to promote GWHA’s vision and values, through effective leadership, direction and alignment of corporate planning and services.

The Corporate Director will lead sustainable internal and external services through the Corporate division: with key roles in compliance, diversification and restructuring, at both governance and organisational levels, including continued development of compatible non-charitable sustainable services through the trading subsidiary, Glasgow West Enterprises (GWEn).

The successful candidate will have significant RSL experience at management level, and will be a confident leader and ambassador with a commitment to community controlled ethos and GWHA values.  You will have significant experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams (in particular Finance, HR, Audit and Governance functions), demonstrate sound judgement, strong analytic skills and creative and innovative thinking. Possession of a relevant degree level qualification and/or significant demonstrable experience in a comparable role is essential.

Generous EVH Terms and Conditions, including a Defined Contribution Pension Scheme, apply.
Closing date for applications: 12 Noon on Monday 10 August 2020.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Basic Disclosure Scotland check.
