Manor Estates Housing Association is seeking to recruit a part time (25 hours) Technical Inspector to join our busy Technical Services Team. We manage over 1090 tenanted properties and provide factoring services to over 1700 residents in the Edinburgh area.

Reporting to the Senior Technical Officer, you will be responsible for day to day repair inspections, empty house inspections, planned maintenance contract support and routine estate inspections.

You will use your people skills to assist the section in:

•  Achieving the annual planned maintenance programme of work
•  Reactive, planned and cyclical maintenance services
•  Empty house inspections and control
•  Contractor Performance
•  Stock Surveys
•  Contribute to policy development reviews
•  Quality Control & Health and Safety
•  Development of inspection systems and mobile data collation

You must be committed to customer-focussed services and aim to provide best value and quality at all times. Previous experience of working within a busy property maintenance section is desirable. You will be qualified in construction/maintenance or have extensive relevant experience of property maintenance through being a time served tradesperson or supervisor, with multi trade experience. You should have the desire to “make a difference” to our organisation.

The salary grade for this post is £31,282 - £34,350 pro rata– and key terms and conditions are noted below:

- 25 working hours per week (over 4 or 5 days)

- flexible working applies
- 25 days annual leave (pro rata)
- 15 days public holidays (pro rata)

You must have a car available for business use, a current driving licence and car insurance which must include cover for business use.
