Independent Advocacy is about everyone having a right to a voice and having that voice taken into account. Under mental health legislation, people have a legal right of access to an advocacy service. With a value base embedded in equalities and human rights, The Advocacy Project, located in Glasgow, is a long established independent advocacy provider across West Central Scotland with over 26 years of experience.
The strategic aims of the organisation is to ensure that it delivers the best quality of advocacy it can to the people who need it the most. This means a dedication to learning and development at all levels within the organisation, from Modern Apprenticeship & CPD to our recently established Professional Practice award in Independent Advocacy, which in turn reflects an investment in its people with IIP accreditation at Silver standard and Healthy Working lives at Gold.
Due to the existing post holder relocating we now seek a Business Director who will oversee the effective and efficient management of the business. They will do this by leading and managing a staff team and infrastructure that supports operational functions while enabling opportunities for growth and development through innovative and creative areas of income generation. With a lead on finance and business management this is an integral role within the executive team.
The successful candidate will have skills and experience in business development and financial management, preferably with an equivalent qualification.
We are looking for an individual with a commitment and understanding of our value base and service provision, who can further develop the scope of the business and explore creative approaches to continue to grow and develop the organisation.
