A poll of 3,000 people showed that 48% think those caught littering should take part in community litter picks and 36% suggested criminal prosecution.

Since the 1960s, littering in the UK has increased by 500% and now costs taxpayers up to £800m a year.  The monetary cost is one aspect of the growing issue of littering, the impact on the environment, habitats and local wildlife is significantly detrimental.

The health, safety and wellbeing benefits of clean and tidy streets for everyone living or visiting the UK are clear however, the aesthetic presentation of our country should be something to be proud of.
