Contracts of Employment

A contract of employment is a legally binding document, defining the relationship between an employer and employee.  It describes:

  • Your organisation’s expectations of the staff member;
  • The terms and conditions of employment; and
  • The benefits the staff member will receive.

A contract must always include certain information required by law in the Statement of Particulars of Employment.  You must also meet any statutory minimum requirements in respect of many of the issues that will be covered in the employment contract.
