Personal Relationships at Work

Given the amount of time we spend at work, it is not surprising that many close friendships and personal relationships start and develop in the workplace.

While an employer does not have any wish to encroach on the private life of an employee, it has a duty to ensure that the organisations interests are protected.

While no amount of guidance or policy can cover every eventuality, having a clear policy and procedure allows for both the employer and employee to understand their own responsibilities in such situations.
